Christopher Johnson

Managing Director, Head of Global Equity Trading & Capital Markets Schwab Asset Management

Christopher Johnson is a Managing Director and Global Head of Trading for Schwab Asset Management. Mr. Johnson oversees the teams responsible for all equity, fixed income, derivative, and foreign exchange trading in Schwab mutual funds, ETFs, collective investment trusts and managed accounts as well as the capital markets function for the Schwab ETFs.

Mr. Johnson joined Schwab in 2017 and has been in the financial services industry since 1998. Prior roles include head of U.S. ETF distribution at RBC Capital Markets, LLC; head of ETF sales for the Americas at Macquarie Capital (USA), Inc; and director of ETF sales and trading at Cantor Fitzgerald. Mr. Johnson was also an ETF sales trader with Knight Capital and spent 13 years in various roles at Vanguard, primarily in their international business.

Mr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies-Japanese from Colgate University and a Graduate Business Certificate in finance from St. Joseph’s University. In addition, he completed American Society of Pension Actuaries examinations C-1 and C-2 (DC). He holds Series 7 and 66 licenses.
